Student Bible Study

EAT:

In the fall of 2010 we implemented a new strategy of Bible study; teaching students how to read, comprehend, and study the scriptures. The goal is for students who graduate from our ministry to be very well equipped in how to use the Bible. This is a life skill for all Christians that is necessary for continued growth towards Christ.

Currently, we are simply taking a passage or verse and analyzing it with the “Observation, Interpretation, and Application” model of Bible study. The singular focus and repetition of this method has sparked a new interest and depth in Bible study.
Below is list of classes, teachers, locations, and a general tract of information that is covered in each year.

ALL middle and high school classes will meet in the MPC for fellowship and announcements at 8:45 am and then will be released to classes.

Wednesday Nights

FEED:

Wednesday nights are unique at West Acres Baptist Church. Our purpose is to find the lost, meet their needs, share the gospel with them and disciple our students along the way.

Large Group Setting:
6:00 p.m. - Worship Experience

6:30 p.m. - Announcements and message - parents encouraged to stay and listen.
7:00 p.m. - 4:1 Groups

Community Changers:
Periodically throughout the year Students will participate in local missions projects.  We have worked in warehouses for local charities, participated in Acts of Kindness and many other things to reach out to our community.  This is a great way to get students out of the building and serving the community for Jesus.

Crossover - Student Choir:
For all students in grades 6-12.  Meets in the Music Suite @ 5:30 p.m. during the school year.  We sing several times each year on Sunday morning @ 10:00 a.m. and lead during our Summer Mission Tour, dinner theaters and ministry activities.  Led by our Minister of Music, Chris Norris.

Parents

HONOR - INFORM - EQUIP

In our student ministry, we want to honor, inform and equip our parents. We honor you by knowing our place and yours within the family dynamic. We want to inform you with all the events and calendaring that goes on with our ministry. We want to equip you with information and resources that help you to raise your children biblically.

God has ordained parents to be the primary influence in their spiritual development.  We want to partner with parents to assist and equip you in that process.

A person goes through the following process in becoming a fully devoted follower of Christ:
   Unbeliever -->
      Believer --> Learn (EAT)
         Disciple--> Change (GROW)
            Apostle--> Multiply (FEED)
Our activities are specifically designed to meet the needs of youth at each stage in the process.
